"Where are you from, -----------?" (fill in the blank any country but USA)

There seems to be a recurring trend in this trip. I get asked where I'm from from all the taxi drivers; and they guess completely wrong all the time. I've been labeled Singaporean, Malaysian, Chinese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Filipino (once), and even Canadian!!! WTF! Whatever, as they say here "same same, but different."

Jill and I say goodbye to Vicky and Yin. I'm sure they're back in their own beds now. We all had a great time together. Sorry for all the burping, eating with my mouth open, random noises and singing phrases. I'll work on it.

Vicky lost all her photos by formatting the HD accidentally. :( . If anyone can help her out with some type of recovery software, contact her via email or facebook.

So Jill and I are in Ho Chi Minh city. Like Jenn Lai says, it's kinda like a big Milpitas city!!! haha. There are scooters everywhere! Jill says " OMG, it like there are roaches swarming all over the road!" The rules of the road are few. Usually the bigger car has right of way, although a peleton full of scooters can easily dart thru the traffic stops. It's common to see a family of 4 all on 1 scooter!

We ate at Ngon restaurant the first night! Yummy! Each plate was about $3-4 only. We thought that was cheap, but we later find out, that's pretty expensive for the locals.

We went on an all day Mekong Delta tour today. Totally touristy and a disappointment, but whatever. You have to do it once, you know. It's kinda like seeing the Architectural tour boat in Chicago, you have to do it once to check it off the list. Rode on some small boats in the canals, and even rode an old school bike with the locals for a few blocks. I felt that we were herded as cattle from one place to another, each place trying to sell us random local goods.

We got back for dinner and ate at this local joint in which we had trouble ordering. Jill got #2 pork dish and frog legs (tastes like chicken). I got chicken feet by accident, and never got the shrimp. Ordered additional steamed chicken, which was just OK. At one point, it was all just men drinking and smoking, Jill was the only female around. We think it was a happy hour, small eats, and social drinking spot for men to get their Bromance on. At one point, a random cat jumped out of the window onto some tables totally knocking over some beers! It scared us, but the locals didn't seem to mind much, normal shit happens I guess.

Not as hot here as Thailand or Cambodia, but still on as much showers as possible. Cu Chi tunnels is next on the list.
