Picking up where Alex left off on his last blog, we are in southern Thailand! Thursday evening, after a super delish meal at Lemongrass (family-run restaurant in Koh Phi Phi Don) - can I just say if there is a fried chicken heaven, KPP is IT?!?! Soooooo delish!!!!!!! - we hiked to catch the sunset from an awesome viewpoint overlooking the mountain and water. GORGEOUS!
That evening, after a much needed shower and slipping into cool, breezy, sun dresses (the girls, not Alex... he wore his ropa basura shorts and tee) we sat beachside at Carlito's. Enjoying drinks while chilling to the music and fire show. Which, by the way, was entertaining despite the kerosene fumes and the occasional errant stick of fire that accidentally landed not 12 inches from our feet (knocked over my sangria!).

The next day was eventful: sunbathing on Loh Dalum bay (we are all seriously sunburned, me being the worse... Red red red is my whole body), and a cruise around Phi Phi Ley.
This is where it gets interesting.
The 2nd stop on the cruise allowed us to kayak. Alex spots this cave that, uh, he dubbed the vagina cave. He really really really wanted to row into it. We 3 girls had no idea why. So while he's trying his hardest to row towards and into it, I am steering us away from it with all my might! Thank you cruise helper for putting me on the kayak as the steerer!!!!! Ergo, we avoid entering the vagina cave! LOL

The last stop was THE BEACH (aka Maya Bay). Background: this was Alex's must do on Phi Phi Ley. So like the movie, we had to hike to the bay through the back. (Sadly, we did not see a field of mj along the way, per Leo's character's experience in the film). But when we got to the beach, it was well worth it. Soft sand. Warm sea foam green water. And a phallic stalactite pointing towards the sand. Beautiful. Hahaha

The cruise ended with a breathtaking sunset while feasting on fried rice.
(I am almost done! Just a short synopsis of today's adventure!)
Today, our location is Krabi. At Railei, our itinerary was to hike to the Phra Nang Cave, then hike to the viewpoint and lagoon. OK, none of us knew anything about the Phra Nang Cave .... Since it held historical/legendary significance, we thought it'd be something more. But we did not expect this: a tiny cave with a shrine. And penises. Lots of large wooden phallic-shaped objects. There was literally a small shrine with incense burners, a real human woman praying, and giant penises sticking out of the sand. Serious. (On a more serious note, I shouldn't make light of this, since the penises represent Lingba, the symbol of Shiva; and is a sign of fertility). :)
See a running theme here? Hahahahaha interesting, to say the least.
With that lovely thought, I'm signing out. until next time...... !!!!!!
